We at MSJS have been doing Samooh Samayik every alternate Sunday since 2003. It has been 17 years without a gap. During COVID period, we continued doing Shrut Samayik online due to local restriction.
We do two Samooh Samayik every alternate Sunday. In the first Samayik, we go through different books written by M.S. (i.e. Padma Bhushan Ratnasundar Maharaj) or other scholars. We then try to understand the concept via different examples and discussions to see how we can implement those things that we learned in our day to day life.
Second Samayik is a Shrut Samayik where Hirenbhai Shah from Navsari, India gives us knowlege about various topics i.e. Pacchakkhan, topics from Shraddh Vidhi Prakran etc.
These fortnightly Samooh Samayik gets conducted from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at below locations:
1. MSJS Centre, 124-126 Rowans Road, Moorabbin, VIC 3189 (Google Map)
2. Arndell Park Community Centre, 29-49 Federation Blvd, Truganina VIC 3029 (Google Map)
This ongoing fortnightly activity provides a great opportunity for anyone to perform/participate in Samayik, want to learn more about Jainism or connect with fellow Jain Sadharmik in Melbourne.
This MSJS initiative has been well supported by various Sadharmik families by attending Samooh Samayik to improve their knowledge about Jainism and to stay connected with our community.
