Respected Shravak/Shravika,

Pranam.

As the world reels from the deadly coronavirus pandemic, yesterday Australian Federal government has announced yet another restriction whereby Indoor gathering over 100 individuals is now banned effective immediately.

Considering this & other restrictions plus safety of the MSJS community members, as a law-abiding organisation, MSJS Management Committee had to take an unfortunate & heart-breaking decision to cancel following events:

  • Residential Shibir planned during Easter 2020 (10-13 Apr)
  • Samooh Aayambil (5 Apr)
  • Rakeshbhai's sessions (4-5 Apr)
  • Samooh Samayik and Children Pathshala at both of the locations (South East & West) until further notice. Note that MSJS Management Committee is currently assessing if online Shrut Samayik can continue.

Soon, we will send another communication about refund to those who have paid for RSVP of any of the above events.

Please take care of yourself, family and friends while we go through this difficult time.

Kind Regards,
MSJS Management Committee

Respected Shravak and Shravika,

Pranam.

Melbourne Shwetambar Jain Sangh (MSJS) is pleased to inform you that the Chaitra Maas Navpadji Oli starts from Tuesday, 31st March 2020 to Wednesday, 8th April 2020 (from Chaitra Sud 7 to Chaitra Sud 15).

MSJS has organised Samooh Aayambil on Sunday, 5th April 2020 at MSJS Centre after Samayik.

MSJS organised Samooh Aayambil Labh (Nakro of $1,501) is available and same will be given on first-come-first-served basis to Sadharmik. Please email us on [email protected] if you wish to take this Labh.

As per Jainism, Navpadji Oli is considered as Shashwati Parva. It means Navpadji Oli festivals exist in all time cycles (past, present and future).

During these nine days, one should do Aayambil - means - Eat once in a day in one sitting- a simple spice free food, boiled or cooked without milk, curd, ghee, oil, green/raw vegetables, fruits, dry fruits and sugar.

To celebrate this occasion MSJS has organised Samooh Aayambil along with Pravachan Session with Shree Rakeshbhai Shah at MSJS Centre on Sunday, 5th April 2020 after Samayik.

Session with Shree Rakeshbhai Shah

We are very pleased to inform that Shree Rakeshbhai Shah will be here in Melbourne during this Oli weekend. For those who remember, Shree Rakeshbhai gave a very influential Pravachan on "Navkar Malyo Pan Falyo Kharo?" during February 2010 at MSJS.

He belongs to Young Alert Group of India and is a very good orator from Ahmedabad. MSJS have organised two sessions with Shree Rakeshbhai as below:

  • Saturday, 04/04/2020 at 08:00 PM at MSJS Centre
  • Sunday, 05/04/2020 at 10:30 AM at MSJS Centre during Samayik (West Samayik and Pathshala will be merged at MSJS Centre)

Make sure you do not miss these sessions.

MSJS management committee is monitoring situation with regards to Corona Virus and any of the MSJS events could be cancelled depending on the situation in which case appropriate communication will be sent.

EOI to host Aayambil
As done in the past, ALL Sadharmik families are encouraged to host Aayambil on any of the Oli days at MSJS Centre except Sunday, 5th April 2020. This proposal is with clear objective of maximizing MSJS Centre usage. With folded hands, we again solicit your support for this initiative by taking Labh to host Aayambil at MSJS Centre. We also encourage multiple families to join hands in hosting Aayambil at MSJS Centre.

Considering the distance, Families in Western suburb are welcome to register their EOI to host Aayambil at their residence.

So If you would like to take Labh of hosting Aayambil on any of the Oli days (except Sunday, 5th April 2020) by organising Aayambil either at MSJS Centre OR at your residence in Western suburb then please click here to express your interest. Labh will be given on first come first serve bases.

For any queries, please email us on [email protected].

Regards,
MSJS Management Committee
